The Queen Charlotte track is now open to cyclists

The trial sees the opening for bike riders of the Ship Cove to Camp Bay leg until the end of February.

It's a section that's previously been walkers-only during this time.

The Marlborough District Council says the full length of the track is now accessible to both walkers and cyclists in the peak period.

Track Manager Tracey Green says this move expands the types of visitors they'll draw to the track.

She says they hope to see more families and the introduction of e-bikes has definitely changed that dynamic as well.
