    Ben Platt has got married

The Tony Award winning actor tied the knot with Noah Galvin in a lavish three-day celebration in New York City over the Labor Day weekend, beginning with a Shabbat dinner last Friday (30.08.24)

Noah told Vogue magazine: "Since some of Ben's family are observant Jews, we couldn't get married until Sunday when Shabbat was over, so to keep the party going we had a bar hang with some games and Lombardi's pizza on Saturday night at Cellar Dog in the West Village.

"Finally, on Sunday, we had the wedding proper at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Noah was sad that nobody used the IKEA ferry to get there..."

The wedding ceremony last Sunday (01.09.24) was officiated by Ben's Rabbi, David Wolpe, and various friends and family members honoured the couple with the seven Hebrew blessings that signify a marriage, as well as English interpretations of each.

The ceremony then ended with a surprise for the grooms, as their mothers teamed up to sing a classic Jewish wedding song.

Noah said: "And then, we both stepped on glasses. And they broke, thank god!"

The couple then enjoyed an after-party at Sunny's bar, where guests enjoyed food from Shake Shack and a Marie's Crisis Café-inspired musical theatre singalong.

Ben and Noah were reluctant to wear matching outfits for the ceremony.

Ben said: "Upon doing our initial gay wedding research, we discovered that it is, upsettingly, common practice to match on your wedding day.

"[In addition to both wanting to look different,] we also did not want to look like cater waiters, so we opted for coordination as opposed to straight-up matching."

On Friday, they wore head-to-toe navy Thom Browne tailoring, with Noah in a cropped suit jacket and trousers and Ben in a kilt and blazer. The couple told their guests Saturday's (31.08.24) event would be as "casual as can be" but the 'Book of Mormon' star wore a vintage button-down shirt and capri pants, while his spouse "showed everyone up" in full Issey Miyake.

Stylist Jared Ellner designed their cream wedding outfits and they were made by Arel Studio.

Ben said: "When it came to the wedding, we wanted to give Jared full rein."

They then changed into custom looks from Shosh, a boutique line from Noah's aunt, Carol Pratt, with their outfits made of linen and silk textiles for ultimate comfort.

The couple couldn't have asked for more from their celebrations.

Noah said: "We couldn't have asked for anything more. We are still floating. And mostly we're happy we get to keep hanging out forever."

Ben added: "Our greatest hope was to give everyone a joyful, low-stress weekend full of warmth and a window into our relationship and the life that we are building. And we wanted the dancing to go off. We feel that all missions were accomplished!"
