Shay Mitchell loves the challenge of motherhood

The 37-year-old actress - who has daughters Rome, two, and Atlas, five, with her partner Matte Babel - has admitted that she has "so much fun" as a mom

Shay told PEOPLE: "I'm having the best time ever."

The 'Pretty Little Liars' star has also learned some important life lessons through her own children.

Shay - who has been in a relationship with Matte since 2017 - said: "Honestly, they're teaching me a lot of things that I didn't know about myself.

"They boss me around and it's a really fun time. Every day I get to learn something new, but I also get to see things through their eyes."

Shay previously explained that having a second child has changed her life.

The actress confessed to being surprised by just how much her life has been transformed since the birth of Rome.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Shay shared: "People used to tell me going from zero to one was nothing compared to going from one to two, and that could not be truer.

"Now I look back and I'm like, how did having one kid seem difficult for me?"

Although caring for two young children has been a big challenge, Shay has actually relished the experience.

The actress loves spending time with her daughters and seeing them have fun together.

She said: "That's the best part. It's amazing."

Despite this, Shay suggested that she didn't want to have another child for the time being.

The Hollywood star explained: "I think two is good for right now. All my friends that have one, I'm always like, 'Just savour this. Savour it! Take it in.'"
