Lily Allen is taking a break from work on her podcast to focus on her mental health because she's "not in a good place"

The 39-year-old pop star - who is reported to have split from her actor husband David Harbour - has confirmed she's taking time off from appearing on 'Miss Me?' because she's been "spiralling" and suffering from panic attacks during a difficult few months.

Speaking on the podcast, she explained: "You're not going to hear me for a few weeks, listeners ... I'm finding it hard to be interested in anything. I'm really not in a good place.

"I know I've been talking about it for months, but I've been spiralling and spiralling and spiralling, and it's got out of control."

She added of her mental health: "I tried, I mean, I came to the Christmas lunch, the 'Miss Me?' Christmas lunch, and I had a panic attack and had to go home.

"I went to see something at the theatre the other night with my [friends] Carlo and Claire, and I had to leave at halftime."

Lily also insisted she won't be turning out for any showbiz events, adding: "I just can't concentrate on anything except the pain that I'm going through."

The 'Smile' singer - who has been sober for five years - also shot down speculation that she's suffered a relapse, saying: "There will be speculation, because of the amount of time that I'm going to be taking away, that I'm going to drug rehab, and I'm not. I've not relapsed."

Lily previously insisted she wants to "move on" and focus on her career in 2025 - revealing she wants to do "a little bit of work" on herself before throwing herself into writing new music and appearing on stage in a theatre production in the UK this summer.

During a previous appearance on the podcast, Lily explained: "Firstly, I'm going to go and get my head straight for a bit.

"I'm doing a little bit of work on myself in this beginning period of the year, then I'm going to do some more writing, then I'm going to do my play, hopefully, maybe get an album out by the end of the year. That would be nice, wouldn't it? ... We're bringing Lily Allen back in 2025."

She went on to add: "I think I'm going to try and be less of a narcissist in 2025. I need to be more empathetic. I've been quite wrapped up in myself and victimhood lately and I'm ready to move on."
