Pedro Pascal thinks Catherine O'Hara is a "genius"

The 49-year-old actor starred alongside Catherine, 71, on the new season of 'The Last of Us', and he's admitted to relishing the experience of working with the acclaimed actress

He told 'Extra': "[It was] one of the best professional experiences of my life.

"I think she's a genius, and I've thought so most of my life, and so to get to do a dramatic scene with her - which is not outside of her wheelhouse, she can do anything, I've always known so - and to be somebody that got to witness that kind of a flex is something I'll never forget."

Pedro described working with Catherine - who previously starred in the 'Beetlejuice' and 'Home Alone' film franchises - as being "as good as it gets" for an actor.

The Hollywood star said: "It was one of the best workdays of my life ... You always just want a scene partner. There's so many different kinds of [settings] - we're on a snowy mountain and we're chasing drug dealers, we're flying a spaceship - but when you're sitting down and getting to dance with somebody like that, it's as good as it gets."

Catherine previously revealed that she relished the experience of working with Pedro and Bella Ramsey.

The actress told Entertainment Weekly: "I just love working with Pedro Pascal.

"Both of them. Bella. Wow. Was that intimating? It always is. It's not my territory ... You're just like, thank you for inviting me and I'll try to be a good guest. But they were very kind to me and it was great."

Catherine also opened up about her role on the show, revealing that she has an "odd relationship" with Pedro's character.

The movie star said: "You don't quite know why she's got ... well, she's got this edge to her, but it makes for some weird, good dark comedy, I think. So it's there. I never want to deny the gift of humour."

Catherine believes the best dramatic roles have humour to them.

The actress explained: "You can't take that out of your life. And when you do, it makes for a very dull performance."
