Regina Hall has considered becoming a nun "several times" in her life

The 54-year-old actress attended a Catholic school and she seriously thought about becoming a nun before she became a Hollywood star.

During an appearance on the Good Hang podcast, Regina shared: "I went to Catholic school, and so we had the nuns, who I loved. I loved my nuns."

The movie star always found nuns to be "loving" and she considered following in their footsteps.

Regina explained: "I did [consider becoming a nun]. I did several times when I was in high school. And then again, when I was older, and I was too old."

The actress actually considered becoming a nun at 41, two years after the cutoff point.

She explained: "With some orders it's a sleeping partner number thing - four ... Some [orders, it] could be a certain amount of partners, some might be how many attachments that you have [had]. Some you know, in the world - it's hard - and some is age."

Regina previously considered pursuing a career in journalism, describing the industry as "interesting".

The actress told the Today show in 2022: "I was in school and I read a book, it's called 'Democracy in America.' Now, that book really resonated with me that if you do not have the press, if you do not have journalism - a free press - Hothen you cannot maintain democracy."

However, Regina's plans changed suddenly after her dad passed away and she needed to find a way of making money quickly.

The movie star said: "I had a friend who was like, 'If you need to earn some extra money, you could do commercials.' And that's how I was introduced to it.

"But my father's death, I was young. I was 23, so it was sobering and painful, but it sort of redirected my journey."

Regina enjoyed her career breakthrough in The Best Man, the 1999 comedy drama film. However, she almost missed out on the role.

She said: "I had a move because one of the girls in my acting class used to be an exotic dancer and I said I need to learn a dance and she said, 'You don't have to know anything. You have to do this one move and that's it'. And I did that and they stopped the music. The producers said, 'Can you do anything else?' and I said, 'yes' and then I just got my clothes and said, 'thank you' and I left ... because I was like, well, I'm not gonna get it."
