Tori Spelling took scissors to her long locks over the weekend and chopped her hair into a short bob because she "felt like a change"

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star, 52, has revealed she cut her hair herself with some help from her 17-year-old daughter Stella, who helped snip the back of her style, and Tori is convinced the new hair 'do has made her feel "so good" about herself.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "I cut my own hair and I liked it...

"Call it spontaneity or rebel energy but 1 hour before an event last night I decided to cut my own hair! Chop chop. Full transparency @stella_mcdermott08 had to cut the back for me.

"I felt like a change. Out with the old in with the new . I haven't stopped smiling and beaming. Change starts from within but sometimes a literal physical change can feed the soul. Show my new DIY DO some in comments below xo.

"I call the do bc it's start of spooky season (my fave). Straight as an arrow, Blonde as a board."

Tori was swamped with positive messages from fans about her new style and she added in a subsequent post: "You like it! You really like it! Which is amazing, but most importantly I love it. I feel so good. Feeling me. The season to shed what no longer serves you."

Tori went on to reveal her longtime pal and former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Brian Austin Green also loves her new look, adding: "And my boy BFF (best friend forever] Brian Austin Green says I look at least a decade younger. Yassss I'll take it."

Tori previously shared her best beauty tips in an interview with Allure magazine, revealing she's learned a lot from working with make-up artists over the years.

She told the publication: "I was the girl with a gazillion and one makeup brushes, but after being in so many shoots and doing so many things over the years, you learn amazing tricks - especially with Q-tips. I learned how to smoke my eyes out with them."

Tori went on to add that she rarely leaves home without applying mascara and her favourite brand is a high street bargain.

She said: "First, I curl my lashes, which I think makes a huge difference. Then I throw on a waterproof mascara and go. I've tried every single one, and I love Maybelline mascaras."
