Taraji P. Henson wants to "convince" Viola Davis to join The Masked Singer

The 55-year-old Hollywood actress was revealed as the celebrity behind the Scarab costume on Wednesday's (21.01.26) episode of the hit US show, and she is giving some thought to fellow stars she could nudge to sign up.

She told Entertainment Weekly: "I don't know. I would have to think about that. "Maybe I will try to convince Viola to do it since they kept naming her."

Fans have wanted Taraji on the show for years, but the judges had some "funny" guesses for her identity, including How To Get Away With Murder star Viola.

She said: "I thought they were kinda funny. Viola Davis, I thought that was kind of interesting. Then somebody said Angela Bassett.

"It was just interesting and funny to be under the mask hearing them guess that I'm some of my peers."

The Color Purple star was disappointed that Rita Ora - who she worked with on That's My Jam - correctly named her, and Taraji would do things differently if she got the chance.

She explained: "Well, all of my mannerisms. Fans under my comments, were like, 'I could tell as soon as she put her hand up in the air. I could tell as soon as she opened her mouth.' "I would change my voice. I would do things different."

Taraji is one of the biggest stars to sign up for the show, and she did so after hearing about the judges "guessing her every year".

Meanwhile, she insisted that she didn't worry about signing up for the reality show despite her continued success on the big screen.

She said: "I don't think about it. I do what I wanna do. I do what moves me. I do what excites me and inspires me.

"I don't care what other people are doing or what the industry says is hot or not.

"I have a solid fanbase and they follow me wherever I go. So I think those days are over now because of social media."
