NFL star Puka Nacua has sent a flirty message to Sydney Sweeney

The 28-year-old actress recently outlined what she's looking for in a man, and her comments prompted a cheeky reply from Puka, the 24-year-old sports star who plays as a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams.

Sydney - who has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years - told Cosmopolitan magazine: "[My type is] athletic and outgoing and funny.

"I'm a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me. And someone who loves their family. I love myself a man."

Cosmopolitan subsequently tweeted Sweeney's quote, and Puka was quick to reply.

The sports star wrote: "Love skydiving."

Sydney called off her engagement to Jonathan Davino last year, and she recently explained why she tried to keep her romance "very private".

The Euphoria star said: "I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it.

"I was very private. No one would ever see us. I think it's important to have some things for myself. I understand that I'm a public person, but I'm still in my 20s. I'm still figuring out love, and it's hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like."

Sydney feels she worked tirelessly throughout her 20s and she now wants to enjoy the next chapter of her life.

She shared: "At the same time, for all of my 20s, I put my head down and focused on work - and now I want to experience things. It's hard deciding that I want to experience love in the public eye. I'm just navigating it all."

What's more, the actress insisted she doesn't need a man in order to feel happy.

Sydney said: "I am a boss in my life. I take control. I go after what I want. I am confident, and I am successful, and I don't actually need a man. I've got myself.

"I've got a team of bad*** women. That is very intimidating to a lot of guys, so a guy needs to be able to stand in that with me. It takes a very specific person who can handle the world that comes with me."
