Zack Snyder would work with Amber Heard "in a second"

The 57-year-old filmmaker "doesn't get" the backlash the 'Aquaman' star has experienced in the wake of her legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp - who she had to pay damages to following a lengthy defamation trial over an article she wrote about being a survivor of domestic abuse - or why her career has been on the decline because he thinks she's a great actress

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "I just don't get it. If other people don't like her, I don't know what to say. I would work with her in a second."

The 'Justice League' filmmaker confirmed he is still in touch with Ezra Miller amid their recent personal and legal troubles, including being accused of grooming and fined for disorderly conduct.

Zack said: "[They] did a great job in that 'Flash' movie.

"It's very difficult to play against yourself."

The director also offered praise for Ray Fisher - who appears in his latest film 'Rebel Moon' and who he cast as Cyborg in his cut of 'Justice League' - for the way he called out Joss Whedon over his treatment of the 'Justice League' cast, prompting some of his co-stars to also speak out.

Zack said: "He's weathered the storm in a way not many people could or get to do."

Amber was previously forced to deny reports she had been dropped from 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom', which is due for release next month.

Her spokesperson previously said: "The rumour mill continues as it has from day one - inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane."

An online petition to get the actress dropped from the sequel was also started towards the end of the legal proceedings between her and her ex-husband, attracting almost five million signatures in a matter of weeks.

And during the bitter six-week defamation trial, Warner Bros ex ecutive Walter Hamada testified producers had considered recasting the actress over concerns about her lack of "natural chemistry" with co-star Jason Momoa Momoa.

He added in court producers had to "fabricate" a connection between the actors.
