    Kanye West has quit X

The controversial rapper - who sparked outrage last week with a string of antisemitic posts on the social media platform, including branding himself "a Nazi" and expressing his love for Adolf Hitler - thanked the site's owner Elon Musk for giving him a space to "vent" and offered love to those who gave him "energy and attention" before deactivating his account on Sunday (09.02.25)

He wrote: "I'm logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip. Love all of you who gave me your energy and attention. To we connect again. Good afternoon and good night.(sic)"

Before quitting the platform, the 'Stronger' hitmaker had taken aim at Taylor Swift, who was at the Super Bowl cheering on her Kansas City Ciefs player boyfriend Travis Kelce against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Seemingly referring to Kendrick Lamar performing his Drake diss track 'Not Like Us' during the game's halftime show, Kanye ranted: "IF ITS ABOUT THE CULTURE ... WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN AND ACCUSING OF THINGS THAT CAN TAKE A BLACK MAN DOWN FOR LIFE. (sic)".

Kanye's decision to deactivate his account came shortly after former 'Friends' star David Schwimmer called for Musk to ban the rapper from the site.

He wrote on Instagram over the weekend: "This is so 2022.

"We can't stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile... but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk.

"Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X.

"That's twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence.

"His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.(sic)"

The 58-year-old actor went on to express his disgust that there hadn't been "sufficient outrage" over Kanye's comments and warned staying silent made people "complicit" in the rapper's actions.

"I don't know what's worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point.

    "Silence is complicity. (sic)".

Kanye - who was previously banned from X from December 2022 until summer 2023 for similar disturbing messages - sparked outrage with his X posts a few days ago.

He wrote: "IM A NAZI" and "I LOVE HITLER," before later adding: "Hitler was sooooo fresh."

He continued: "I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE F*** ANTI SEMETIC MEANS."

In later posts, he dec lared: "I'm racist. Stereotypes exist for a reason and they all be true. You can get money with Jewish people but they always gonna steal and invite you over to they house on Friday...

"Jewish people actually hate white people and use black people.(sic)"
