Sabrina Carpenter's 'Short n' Sweet' persona is "a more emphasised version" of her real-life self

The 25-year-old pop star released the album - which featured hits such as 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please' - in August, and Sabrina believes the record is a fair representation of her real-life self

The blonde beauty told Vogue magazine: "'Short n' Sweet' is absolutely me. There's no, like, alter ego. But it's definitely a more emphasised version of me.

"It's interesting because I'm able to dress in this way where you would kind of expect to hear like a voice from the '60s. But then, when I'm speaking to the audience, I'm just myself."

Sabrina considers 'Short n' Sweet' to be an evolution of 'Emails I Can't Send', her 2022 album that also earned positive reviews from music critics.

However, the singer thinks her current style and lyrics are an even more accurate representation of who she is and how she feels about life.

Sabrina explained: "I started wearing outfits that felt more like myself. And then it sort of bled into, like, I was writing these songs that felt more and more like my personality."

The pop star has admitted to being inspired by "strong and hyperfeminine" figures from the past.

She shared: "I remember feeling inspired by images of women that felt very strong and hyperfeminine. And then being like: If only she said what she was actually thinking."

Meanwhile, Sabrina previously revealed that she feels "very distant" from her Disney days.

The chart-topping star played Maya Hart in 'Girl Meets World' earlier in her career, but Sabrina admitted that it now feels like a distant memory.

The actress-turned-singer - who has enjoyed huge success in recent years - told Variety: "I'm 900 inappropriate jokes away from being a Disney actor, but people still see me that way.

"I'm always extremely flattered to be grouped in with the other women and girls who I've idolised and looked up to who came from that, but I feel very distant from it."
