Olivia Munn feared she was "about to lose everything" amid her cancer battle

The 44-year-old actress was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in April 2023 - which led to her undergoing a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy - and Olivia's health struggles have inspired her performance in 'Your Friends and Neighbors', the new TV drama series

Olivia - who underwent five surgeries after receiving her cancer diagnosis - told People: "I've been in places where I feel like everything I love has been stripped away from me. And I feel like I'm about to lose everything that I've worked hard for.

"And I feel like life is unfair and feel like the earth is falling out from beneath me and never being able to catch your breath and just hoping that by waking up and walking forward that something's going to click or something's going to figure itself out for you."

Olivia stars in the show alongside the likes of Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, and Lena Hall, and the actress has explained how her characters differs from the others.

She shared: "My character comes from a blue-collar background and has married into this, and she's really ambitious. She's a mother of two. Being in this world is everything that she's always wanted and it represents safety and stability."

Meanwhile, Olivia previously praised John Mulaney for helping her to navigate her way through her cancer battle.

The 'Magic Mike' actress actually took to social media to heap praise on John, 42, whom she married in 2024.

Olivia - who has Malcolm, three, and Mei, six months, with the comedy star - wrote on Instagram: "I'm so thankful to my friends and family for loving me through this. I'm so thankful to John for the nights he spent researching what every operation and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect.

"For being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes."
