Colin Farrell has revealed his son doesn't want to follow in his acting footsteps

The Penguin star has revealed his son Henry, 15, is currently "busy figuring out" what he wants to do with his life, but it doesn't seem like a career in film and television is necessarily on the cards

The 49-year-old actor told Extra: "I don't think so.

"I know he's busy figuring out what his own footsteps are, which is the most important thing and even if he went into acting, it wouldn't be, I refuse to believe, they are my footsteps.

"He will always make his own."

Colin has Henry with ex Alicja Bachleda-Curus, and 21-year-old son James with ex Kim Bordenave.

He previously suggested the key to a good relationship with his kids is making sure they know they can talk to him about anything.

He told the same outlet in 2024: "You just want to... create an environment where they can come to you if they want to... if they need to share... It's just making yourself available, that's all."

Colin's son James as born with Angelman syndrome, a rare neurogenetic disorder. that causes delayed development, intellectual disability, and problems with movement, balance, and speech.

The Hollywood star insisted his eldest son's condition means he "takes nothing for granted".

He told Candis magazine: "When James was born, we thought he was perfect. Well, he is perfect - but we thought he was physically and neurologically perfect, too.

"You really do take nothing for granted. There's a deep sense of fear - I've run through hospital with James in my arms when he was having a seizure - but there's also a sense of love and respect.

"You know how you hear that a child's first steps are a seminal moment in the life of the parent - as well as the child.

"Well, if you've been told there's a chance your child will never walk, those steps take on a whole new meaning."
