Kim Kardashian took her résumé along to a blind date

The Skims founder had been set up with an unnamed guy by her mom Kris Jenner, who is also her manager, but the 69-year-old matriarch had lied to her daughter about the purpose of their meeting.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Kim explained Kris had paired her with the "TV ex ecutive" at a time when their original reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, was on the air.

Kim said: "She told me it was a job interview, but she told him it was a date.

"And so I pull up and I go and I'm talking about what I want to do and I had a résumé on me!

"I don't think she thought I'd be so prepared to bring a résumé."

Fortunately, the 44-year-old beauty - who has children North, 12, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, six, with third ex-husband Kanye West and was previously also married to Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries - "realised what was up" five minutes into the date and put her documents back in her bag.

She added: "I was like, 'I'm going to kill you.' "

Jimmy asked: "Did the date not ... no chemistry?"

Kim replied: "No. I don't think he ever knew until like years and years later."

But Kris - who was sitting in the audience - insisted the guy "totally knew" and had ideas on how to impress Kim.

She said: "He totally knew because he was also an Emmy Award-winning..."

Kim begged: "Mom, can you stop?"

Kris continued: "No, I'm not going to say his name, but he said, 'Would it help if I brought my Emmy with me?' "

Kim's sister, Khloe Kardashian, who was also in the audience, was unimpressed by Kris' revelation.

She pulled a face and said: "That's a red flag."

Kris insisted: "He was kidding. But I thought, this is never going to work."

However, Kim mused: "So you also wanted to set me up with someone that thought an Emmy was what was going to seal the deal? Hmm."

The Kardashians star insisted she would "trust" her mom's advice when it comes to her love life in future, but her younger sister ruled herself out of helping Kim find a new man.

The 41-year-old star quipped: "Oh, I'm not a good picker, so...

    Kim laughed: "Same, babe."
