Bruce Springsteen allowed his life to become a feature film because he doesn't "care what the f***" he does anymore

The Born To Run rock and roll legend is played by Jeremy Allen White in new biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, and admitted growing "older" meant he was more open to the idea of seeing his own story on screen

Speaking during a special Q+A at Spotify's London HQ, Bruce said: "I figured, I'm 76 years old, I don't really care what the f*** I do anymore...

"As you get older... you take more risks in your work and in life in general."

He pointed to the way director Scott Cooper was able to get the right tone for the movie.

He added: "Scott [Cooper] had a really good grasp of the kind of film I'd be interested in... not a standard musical biopic, but a character-driven drama with music."

The Thunder Road singer was also impressed by the way The Iron Claw actor Jeremy enveloped himself in the role.

He explained: "Jeremy is a rock star. And you can't fake that. You've either got that, or you don't...

"He sings really beautifully. Very credibly. It's fun to watch."

Meanwhile, he was impressed by the way Jeremy's performance didn't feel "imitative in any way".

He said: "It was totally from the inside out. Not from picking outside elements and wearing them like clothes.

"Somehow it deeply relates to my story and myself. That was a really lovely thing to see."

Meanwhile, Jeremy - who admitted singing the Boss' iconic songs was "intimidating" at first - noted how he first "really felt close to Bruce" when he was in the recording booth.

He added: "I was the only pretender on stage. Everyone else - Greta Van Fleet, the New Jersey extras - were the real thing."

Jeremy also revealed how he initially thought he'd need to be working out to maintain his energy, but it came "naturally".

He said: "I thought I'd need to bring a jump rope to keep my stamina up between takes. Turns out, I didn't need it - Bruce-level energy comes naturally when you're up there."

Spotify hosted a Q+A between legendary musician Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White, the actor playing him in Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, for top Spotify fans on October 14, 2025 in London, England.
