Alex Consani is fronting a new campaign for YSL Beauty

The former Model of the Year has teamed up for the brand to promote their new Lash Latex Mascara, which is said to lift and sculpt lashes for up to 24 hours thanks to its water-based bonding formula and clump-free brush.

YSL Beauty chose Alex to front the campaign because of her "modern confidence".

Juliette Ferret, general manager of YSL Beauty US told WWD: "Alex Consani with her modern confidence and bold individuality, perfectly embodies the world of Lash Latex and the YSL Beauty woman in the campaign."

The Lash Latex Mascara is YSL Beauty's second mascara and comes in a silver tue with YSL embossed on the side.

Juliette said of the product: "Lash Latex definitively expands our vision and presence in the eye category with a new mascara that promises stretch, lift, and precision.

"Built around the concept of an empowering lash workout, the nourishing formula, paired with an exclusive lash-fitting brush, meticulously wraps and sculpts each lash."

Last year, 22-year-old Alex became the first trans model to walk for Victoria's Secret, followed shortly afterwards by Valentina Sampaio and though she knew it was a "really impactful moment", she hadn't appreciated just how significance her presence was until afterwards.

She told Teen Vogue magazine: "That was a really impactful moment. It's crazy, though, because I didn't even realize I was the first to walk until after I walked the show.

"I thought that Valentina had already walked a while ago, so having that in my mind took the pressure away.

"At this level, [there] haven't been any references.

"It's really impactful to be [among] the first [to walk for Victoria's Secret] because I'm able to take the hate. If I get called out for something, but it's something that I truly and morally believe in, I have absolutely no problem with it."

Alex made her Met Gala debut this year and spent "four months" working on her outfit, a suitdress adorned with Swarovski crystals.

She told Entertainment Tonight: "I'm some Swarovski with a little bit of scandalous back, I'm feeling gorgeous. I'm feeling stunning tonight. It took about four months to get this stuck together so I'm really happy to finally be here at my first Met Gala so I can be up here!"

However, Alex did regret not spending as much time getting ready because, as she recalled, she simply arrived at her hotel the night before and painted her nails but did not put much more thought into her overall look for the evening.

She said: "Girl, I wish that I'd prepared a little bit harder because I literally just showed up to the hotel last night and did my nails."
