Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara have become parents to a daughter

The All About That Bass singer and her Spy Kids actor husband - who already had sons Riley, four, and two-year-old Barry together - welcomed little Mikey Moon into the world via a surrogate on 18 January and will be "forever grateful" for all those involved in helping them become parents for a third time.

Meghan announced on Instagram on Tuesday (20.01.26): "Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate.

"We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family."

Mikey's older brothers chose her unusual middle name.

Meghan, 32, added: "We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all."

The Made You Look hitmaker has made no secret of her desire to have more children and she admitted a year ago she was ready for "some daughters".

She told People magazine: "Where I am right now is far beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of.

"I always wanted a family. Check. Now I need some daughters.

"But I never thought I could be a pop star because I didn't believe in myself.

"Now 19-year-old Meghan putting out 'All About that Bass' is stoked; she's so proud, like, 'I didn't know you could do that.' It took 10 years to become brave, but I'm finally thriving."

In the same interview, Meghan admitted she was previously warned having children would end her career.

She said: "Once they got pregnant, they were like, 'You're done.'

"I was told at 20 by an older gentleman in the industry, 'Well, she's a mom, so nobody really cares.' I was like, 'Ouch!' "

But the Lips Are Movin' singer believes her career has gained "a whole new life" since having her sons.

She said: "When I became a mom, my career had a whole new life.

"I had a whole reboot, and it's because my kids made me want to be the best version of me. I'm not peaking. I've just begun."
