Jelly Roll believes simplicity is the key to his marriage

The 41-year-old star has been married to Bunnie Xo since 2016, and he's now opened up about their romance, revealing that they try to not overcomplicate things in their relationship.

The Son of a Sinner hitmaker told Us Weekly: "It's always date night. You'd be surprised, when it's really date night time, we're super simple. We live on the farm, sneak into a movie or something."

Jelly Roll - whose real name is Jason DeFord - also tries to remain light-hearted, and upbeat.

The award-winning star believes that having a healthy sex life is important, too.

He shared: "The secret to success is, one, not taking anything too serious [and] having conversations. What happens in that bedroom matters a lot. Those private conversations - and that other stuff."

Jelly Roll recently credited Bunnie with saving his life, following his success at the Grammys.

The music star delivered a heartfelt speech after receiving the award for Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken.

The singer told the crowd at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles: "They're going to try to kick me off here, so just let me try to get this out...

"First of all, Jesus, I hear you, and I'm listening. Lord, I am listening. Lord.

"Second of all, I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn't for you and Jesus. I thank you for that."

Jelly Roll also opened up about the experiences that inspired his hit record.

The singer - who spent time in and out of jail during his younger years - said: "There was a time in my life, y'all, that I was broken. That's why I wrote this album. I didn't think I had a chance, y'all. There was days that I thought the darkest things. I was a horrible human."
