People are being urged to delete a phishing scam e-mail which directs recipients to a counterfeit website to renew their vehicle licence

NZTA says the emails are not from them.

Since the agency first issued warnings about a similar scam late last year, several new versions of the original email have appeared.

Spokesperson Andy Knackstedt says an email genuinely sent from NZTA will include your specific vehicle details - your number plate, vehicle make and licence expiry date.
