A vehicle's smashed into a building in Auckland after the driver allegedly fled from police

It happened about 12.30am on Crowhurst Street in Newmarket.

Photos show a mangled gold station wagon being towed away, a damaged brick wall and rubbish bins and debris scattered around.

St John Ambulance has taken one person to Auckland City Hospital in a moderate condition.

It's understood the police Eagle helicopter was assisting patrol cars when the crash happened.
