A Christchurch teenager has been discharged without conviction, for a crash that killed one and injured four others

A Christchurch teenager has been discharged without conviction, for a crash that killed one and injured four others

Keyana Smith-Beazley was in the front seat, but not wearing a seat belt, when the driver collided with another vehicle in Selwyn's Coalgate in October last year.

She was thrown from the vehicle, and critically injured.

A couple and their two young children were seriously injured.

The 19-year-old driver - who has permanent name suppression - hadn't slept much the night before, but had no drugs or alcohol in his system, and was not speeding, or using his phone.
