A notorious Canterbury intersection is in for an upgrade, after multiple crashes this year

A notorious Canterbury intersection is in for an upgrade, after multiple crashes this year

Local Democracy reports six cars have been written off in three accidents in three weeks at Thompson's Track, between Methven and Ashburton.

Transport Agency changes will be complete by the end of the week.

Ashburton Mayor Neil Brown, says the Give Way will become a Stop with larger signage, and warnings to alert drivers of the upcoming intersection.

There'll also be concrete islands to divide the lanes in half.

He says it's a great move on NZTA's behalf to make the black-spot safer.
