A 27-year-old Auckland man's been arrested - accused of doing a runner after crashing his car into a pole while evading police

Police pulled over a car travelling too fast on Clevedon Road in Papakura before 11pm last night.

They say the driver stopped, but then took off - with the car found crashed into a light pole on Elliot St.

A man's been charged with dangerous driving, failing to remain stopped, and excess breath alcohol.
