Half of Aucklanders believe they won't get caught drink driving

Half of Aucklanders believe they won't get caught drink driving

Alcohol related crashes make up 15 percent of yearly deaths and serious injuries on Auckland roads.

The data's from Auckland Transport and Police, who have done 900-thousand breath tests in the region in one one year.

Auckland Transport Safety Manager Teresa Burnett says people should plan ahead as Police could be on the roads anytime, and anywhere.

She's asking people to organise a sober driver if possible, and use alternative ways of getting home safely.
