An Auckland man's been fighting to get Auckland Transport to waive a 150 dollar fine for driving in a bus lane, despite police telling him to do so

Police were redirecting traffic after a three-vehicle crash last month, which resulted in the closure of Victoria Street West.

Motorist, Rahul, says Police redirected him down a bus lane during rush hour - and Auckland Transport subsequently issued a fine.

He says he provided a police incident number when disputing it, but AT rejected the dispute and didn't give a clear reason why.

After questions from our newsroom, an AT spokesperson says they'll now reverse that decision.
