Countdown's opened a new 150-million dollar Auckland Fresh Distribution Centre in Wiri

Countdown's opened a new 150-million dollar Auckland Fresh Distribution Centre in Wiri

The 20-thousand square metre facility includes green design and technology to ensure fresh produce is kept at optimal temperatures throughout the supply chain.

It also means Countdown can pack a single truck with both meat and produce - rather than a separate truck for each.

Two hundred and 60 jobs have been created.

A similar centre is expected to open in Christchurch in 2024.
