A local State of Emergency remains in place for Wairoa after heavy rain and flooding this week

The council says 200 homes have been flood-affected to some degree.

A surge of volunteers have arrived in the Hawke's Bay town to help clean up.

The mayoral relief fund give-a-little has also opened if people want to give donations.
