The final piece of work on the Huia one watermain replacement in Auckland's Epsom begins today

Once completed, the 15 kilometre pipe between the Titirangi reservoirs and Epsom will supply drinking water to 20 percent of Auckland.

It will replace an existing pipeline which is 76 years old.

The last section of work will happen from St Andrews Road to King George Avenue and part way down Gillies Avenue.

Watercare says it's using technology to minimise disruption, but some closures will be necessary.
