Watercare has finished its wastewater pump station in Auckland's Panmure on time and under budget

Watercare has finished its wastewater pump station in Auckland's Panmure on time and under budget

It was supposed to cost 51-million dollars but the council controlled organisation got it done for 42-million dollars.

Watercare has been at the Dunkirk road site for the past two years.

The project will greatly reduce overflow into the Tamaki River and will help accommodate housing growth in the area.

Project Manager Jason Salmon says the pump station will be able to handle 225 litres a second and 700 thousand litres total.
