Te Anau seemingly remains a wallaby-free zone

Te Anau seemingly remains a wallaby-free zone

Environment Southland began investigating the possibility of a pest in the area, in September -- following the discovery of possible wallaby scat.

DNA sampling results were inconclusive, likely due to its age.

Specialists with trained dogs, trail cameras, and thermal camera have also come up empty-handed.

Council Spokesperson, Ali Meade says the search will end, unless further credible reports are received.
