Parts of the country will have a warm start to the weekend, while others get drenched

Parts of the country will have a warm start to the weekend, while others get drenched

MetService is forecasting Hawke's Bay to see the hottest temperatures - with Napier and Hastings reaching around 30 degrees.

Fire and Emergency is warning anyone planning fireworks to check conditions as they've already had 83 call outs since last weekend.

Meanwhile, Meteorologist Karl Loots says a orange rain warning remains in place across South Island's West Coast.

He says despite it being very wet in those areas, the good news is the east coast remains warm and dry.
