Again importing bitumen to Marsden Point should bring an economic boost and supply security to Northland

Again importing bitumen to Marsden Point should bring an economic boost and supply security to Northland

Fletcher Building and Channel Infrastructure have signed a deal to build a terminal for the important roading material.

Mayor Vince Cocurullo says it could open the door for other uses of the site.

He says Northland has a lot of construction and roading projects in the next five-to-10 years.

Cocurullo says having bitumen close by is vital.
