MetService says the active front that produced downpours and thunderstorms across the North Island will move away to the east overnight

MetService says the active front that produced downpours and thunderstorms across the North Island will move away to the east overnight

Fire and Emergency received 300 flooding-related callouts in Auckland this morning.

Some schools, supermarkets and Covid test and vax centres were forced to close because of torrential rain and flooding.

The Prime Minister was asked about the flooding -- after her own street was affected.

She says there was a lot of water, but she believes it's fine.

Heavy rain warnings and watches remain in place for various parts of the North Island.
