A truck driver says it felt like an earthquake as the Aratere became grounded

A truck driver says it felt like an earthquake as the Aratere became grounded

The ferry came to a halt near Picton on Friday night - and was successfully refloated on Saturday night.

Maritime NZ and the Transport Accident Investigation Commission are investigating.

Heath Harper, who was on the ship, says a group of them were finishing dinner when it happened.

He says the boat was rocking a bit as normal before a big thud and it came to a stop.
