Severe weather has hit the lower North Island - and other areas are NOT in the clear just yet

Residents of Pahiatua woke up to flooded streets after a patch of heavy rain last night - which has returned.

MetService warms there's a risk wind, rain, and storms will impact a significant portion of the North Island including Auckland.

State Highway Two in the Hutt is impacted by heavy winds as is the Desert Road - as rain pours down on a gloomy Sunday.
