A push to make more Northland homes warm and dry this winter

A push to make more Northland homes warm and dry this winter

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority estimates nearly 14-thousand homes across the region could be eligible for heavily discounted insulation.

The Warmer Kiwi Homes programme will cover up to 90 percent of the cost, for owner-occupied homes built before 2008, in lower-income areas.

Manager Henry Nepia says this work has a number of benefits.

He says people who live in warmer, drier homes are more likely to have better health and overall wellbeing.
