    New Zealand's GOAT in a boat has opted out of competing in the first international canoe sprint events of a new Olympic cycle


    Dame Lisa Carrington is absent from a 13 strong New Zealand squad for two World Cups in Hungary and Poland held later this month.

    Olivia Brett, Alicia Hoskin and Tara Vaughan - who won gold with Carrington in the K-4 at Paris - all feature.

    Aimee Fisher has also earned selection.
