Renewed confidence inside Mahe Drysdale's camp ahead of his winner takes all rowing battle with Robbie Manson

Renewed confidence inside Mahe Drysdale's camp ahead of his winner takes all rowing battle with Robbie Manson

After struggling for much of the year, the double Olympic gold medalist recorded a timely single sculls win ahead of this weekend's world cup meet in Switzerland, with victory at the Henley Royal regatta.

The best placed finisher of Drysdale and Manson will man the Kiwi single sculls boat at September's world championships in Bulgaria.

Manson has beaten the veteran in all of their previous encounters this year, however Drysdale's coach Calvin Ferguson says now the result is a hard one to predict.

The Lucerne world cup regatta begins tomorrow night.
