    Kiwi surfer Paige Hareb has won her first event on the World Surf League qualifying series in a decade


    The 28-year-old has won the White Buffalo Hyuga Pro in Japan.

    Hareb has beaten Australia's Isabella Nichols 12.63 to 12.40 in the final.

    The win puts the Kiwi into third on the qualifying standings with one event remaining, the top six gain a place on the championship tour next year.
