The Olympics are looming large for a swag of Kiwi sportspeople this weekend:

The Football Ferns are one win away from booking their plane ticket to Paris...thrashing Fiji 7-1 in the semi-finals of the Oceania Olympic qualifying tournament in Apia.

Kayaker Aimee Fisher is off to the Olympics after combining with Danielle McKenzie to win the K2 500 metre Oceania qualifier in Sydney... sealing two more spots at the Paris Games.

And several Olympic-bound Kiwi athletes are in fine form:

New Zealand star track riders Aaron Gate and Ally Wollaston have snared the omnium titles at the Oceania Track Cycling Championships in Cambridge.

Swimmers Erika Fairweather and Eve Thomas have qualified for the women's 800 metre final at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha.
