Daniel Williamson appreciates the challenge laid down by his New Zealand rowing squad team-mates for tickets to the looming Olympics

The men's pair A duo of Williamson and Phillip Wilson were beaten by the B pairing of Ben Taylor and Campbell Crouch at a World Cup regatta last month - forcing and intense final push for Paris.

A bronze medal in Poland last week saw Williamson and Wilson clinch selection - which Williamson says they couldn't have done without a push.

The selection brings the number of New Zealand boats competing in the rowing regatta in Paris to nine.
