New Zealand's newest gold medalists are still coming to terms with their victory
New Zealand's newest gold medalists are still coming to terms with their victory
2 August 2024
Brooke Francis and Lucy Spoors have won gold in the women's double sculls overnight.
Both women had children in 2022, and have been balancing motherhood with training for the Games.
Francis says they both believed in their ability to get to this point, and they want other mothers to know they can pursue great careers while also being great mothers.
She says today's victory was extremely special, but it still hasn't full sunk in.
Our Kiwi rowers also picked up a bronze and silver overnight, bringing our medal tally to five.
More shortly in sport.
