The North Queensland Cowboys have issued a warning to the rest of the NRL with a big 36-6 win over the Melbourne Storm

The North Queensland Cowboys have issued a warning to the rest of the NRL with a big 36-6 win over the Melbourne Storm

The Cowboys' sixth win in a row takes level on points with the second-placed Storm.

The top of the table champions, the Penrith Panthers, beat Sydney rivals the Roosters 32-12 at the SCG.

Meanwhile Warriors coach Nathan Brown is adamant they'll be able to overcome the departure of Matt Lodge following their 24-18 loss to the Dragons.

The prop suddenly left the Warriors earlier this week after revealing he wasn't willing to relocate his family to New Zealand next season.

But Brown says that wasn't why they lost and their issues weren't in the forwards.

Vice captain Addin Fonua Blake's season is in doubt after sustaining what looks to be a lisfranc foot injury, which can take anywhere from three to six months to heal.

NRL COVERAGE WITH PIT STOP. IF A DASH WARNING LIGHT'S SHOWING, THEY'LL FIX IT.
