    Some stores are trying to entice shoppers with big discounts ahead of Boxing Day


    Tighter budgets has meant consumers are spending less money on Christmas presents this year.

    Some stores have started their Boxing Day sales early as a result.

    Retail NZ chief executive Carolyn Young says there are already significant price drops.

    She's seen signs advertising 40 to 50 percent discounts, and is expecting more of the same on Tuesday.
