Black Caps coach Gary Stead has downplayed his role in the side's maiden test cricket triumph in India

Black Caps coach Gary Stead has downplayed his role in the side's maiden test cricket triumph in India

The hosts hadn't been beaten in a home series for almost 12 years.

Stead's role has been questioned by pundits of late, despite winning a world test championship and making 20 and 50-over white ball finals among other highlights during a tenure that began in 2018.

He has switched the focus back to the team after the glory at Bengaluru and Pune.

The third and final test against India starts in Mumbai tomorrow.
