Pace bowler Jacob Duffy has missed out on a spot in the Black Caps' 15-strong squad for the Champions Trophy starting next month in Pakistan and the UAE

Fast bowling trio Ben Sears, Nathan Smith and Will O'Rourke are in as well as Lockie Ferguson - despite the latter not having a central contract.

Duffy is the stand-by player, and could be brought in if Ferguson is unable to play two matches in the lead-up to the tournament due to overseas T20 commitments.

Coach Gary Stead understands fans might think Duffy's been hard done by.
