A change at the top for the White Ferns women's cricketers

A change at the top for the White Ferns women's cricketers

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine will step down as Twenty20 skipper following October's World Cup in the U.A.E. - while remaining at the helm of the one-day side.

Devine says the additional workload of the twin captaincy can be challenging at times and she wants to focus more of her energy on playing and nurturing future leaders.

The 34-year-old has led the White Ferns in 56 T20s on and off since 2014 for a 25-win, 28-loss, 1 draw record... she assumed the permanent role in both formats from Amy Satterthwaite in 2020.
