Olivia Merry will be the master leading the apprentice when the women's Black Sticks begin their hockey world cup campaign in England overnight

The Black Sticks striker recently brought up her 200th international cap, while rookie forward Lulu Tuilotolava only made her debut in May.

Merry says Tuilotolava's her roommate for the duration of the world cup.

She says Tuilotolava is pretty excited and is like a sponge taking everything on board which is fantastic.

The Black Sticks open their World Cup account against Belgium at 6am.
