The men's Black Sticks are expecting a tight four test series against Canada, getting underway tonight in Warkworth

The men's Black Sticks are expecting a tight four test series against Canada, getting underway tonight in Warkworth

New Zealand's ranked ninth with Canada 11th, and both sides using the series as key preparation for the World Cup which begins at the end of next month.

Black Sticks coach Darren Smith says Canada has tuned up with three wins over New Zealand provincial opposition.

He says they had three good hard games and are nice and settled in, while he has an inexperienced side with eight guys playing professionally in Europe, who they haven't brought back.

The match gets underway at 7pm.
